Custom Wood Bowls and Other Turnings

About

One of the joys of my life has been developing this new skill. Woodturning grabbed hold of me and has yet to let go. Always something new to learn—and, of course, more than a fair share of frustration along the way. Thanks for looking. If you like what you see, let me know!

Do you sell any of your products? Your Chalice and Paten are exceptional.

    • Richard, many thanks for your kind words. Sorry for the delay in response—I was out of the country, with very iffy connection.
I do sell my products. The communion set, alas, was a commissioned project so is not available. Who knows—I may make another! But your note is a motivation to update my site to show which items are available and their cost. Thanks!

    • Hi—
No communion sets available currently. I’ll have to get going on new sets! I’ve been doing some other projects and some traveling, and haven’t updated the site recently. All the best.

Hi, Tom– I’m looking for a beautiful wood chalice (with metal cup insert) and companion paten as an ordination gift. I will need to have the gift in hand by August 8, when I leave for the ordination in India. My friend’s first mass–using this chalice and paten–will take place in his home village, which is very small, very poor, and very Hindu. Any chance you could make this chalice and paten? I admire your work very much!

    • Hello Dick—thanks for your message; I’m honored you would ask. I’m concerned, though, about the timing. I’ve got multiple projects going right now, and some travel in July, so “time runneth short.” I don’t want to leave you in the lurch and promise something I can’t deliver; can I think about my schedule and what might work, and let you know maybe tomorrow?
BTW, I have a Facebook album titled Woodturnings (if you can access it) where I show more items than I do here.

  4. Dick, I’ve carefully thought about your request, and as I mentioned yesterday, I’m fearful of the timing. I’ve got a big project I’m working on for the beginning of July, some time out of town in July, and a show in August; and I’m just afraid I would not be able to fit in creating a communion set. So I’m afraid I’ll have to say no.
I do have a couple of friends who are also very talented woodturners. If you are interested, I can connect you to them and see if something could work. Let me know. Thanks.
