6″ bowl of Tomboti, a wood from southern Africa. A very waxy, soft-sheen wood which coated my turning tools and clogged up the sandpaper. After finishing it, I read about the wood—turns out the fresh latex-like sap is poisonous. Yikes! Probably the last tomboti wood I turn…
